Three Poems by R.J. Lambert

M—th—f—e— (Mouth-feel)

Prepossessing is a recklessly long word for p——y. (pretty)

Wide entrance. Double d——ed. (doored)

Bumper light reflections trace the rect——s. (rectangles)

Soft landings hinge on happy endings. D—— & d——. (dine & dash)

In the mind’s gutter, words plop like p—n—s. (pennies)

Open mouth for a throat full of —i—s. (wishes)

Glory Be He who worshipped me

years ago like sinners

tend to overdo what feels

good before the word

gets out he was a kind

of straight

when he wasn’t bent

with me

gory be he

who knew

me long ago

13 years

to be

approximate

tells me you are

like a temple

after the war

still standing

texts me thousands

of miles away now

scarred from conflict

but you survive

just over seventeen

thousand miles

depending on

the straightness

of the route

like a temple

he says I always

found peace

arising

inside you

—for Angel
